If you can, get the head checked for warpage and see if the valves don't leak. Maybe you may need to get new valves.

I think thats a tad much, why would you want the distributor if its not working great to began with ? I mean the head might be legit, I would have judge the seller and see how legit he is and what not. Just because the valve has green stuff on it, does not really mean its a bad head.

I guess that's not too bad of a price. I just recently got a GSR head with cams and valvetrain only for $375 + shipping. Only thing is, if you need to get work done on the head, you may end up spending extra $$$ on the head. Maybe see if you can find a better deal or see if you can get the seller to lower the price.

Its hard to say just by looking at those pictures. Like stated before its hit or miss and in any case I think the worst it would need is a vavle job if all else is fine. IMO 500 is to much for that head bare like that. Shop around there are several people selling GSR heads.

There's nothing wrong with that head, have a machine shop clean it up and deck it to make sure the surface is flat.

the head not being flat would be the least of his worries.
I would say worn valve guides and bent valves would be his main concern
The valves, however, do not look like they have made any contact.

sorry
H motors sells b16 longblocks for 550.
There isnt anything super special about a GSR head, so dont waste the money.

Judging the quality of the head by the pictures is difficult. There could be a bent valve or the head could be warped. Why is he selling the head also? Also it seems kind of weird to me that he wants to toss in a broken distributor. Sounds to me like he is just trying to get rid of junk.

I almost got a complete b16 head + itr mani + some other crap for $450 shipped on here, so I'd say just wait a little, or go b16. I recently found a thread that tested b16a SiR cams against gsr cams, and the difference was all of 2whp tuned. Unless you are going to limit yourself to a certain psi for some reason, the difference is negligable.

I have always wondered why do you need the same cam caps as the head. You can swap cams from motor to motor.... it would seem that the cma caps would need to follow the cams or you shouldn't be able to use a cam from one motor in another one...
Just wondering...............

Re: is this head still ok to use? (Fitti)
The caps are bolted on the head and then the holes for the cams are bored.Every head is a little different so the caps rarely work on another head without reboring the holes (align bore).
