I have a 94 Vigor that I need to change the head on. Pretty much everywhere I've read states that you shouldn't reuse cylinder head bolts because of bolt stretch. I was wondering if it was possible that I could cross reference my bolt specs with another vehicles (possible f/h/k?) and pick up the bolt/stud kit for that.

The only specs i was able to get were:
11 bolts - 12 x 146mm
1 bolt - 12 x 182mm

Now, I'm ***uming that those numbers are the socket size and the bolt length respectively. I'm thinking i'd also need to know the thread pitch for those (and the other) bolts/studs as well, but i'm hoping Honda uses the same pitch for all their head bolts.

If anyone can give me some help or insight, that would be greatly appreciated.

Thats kind of an incomplete bolt spec. you're missing the thread pitch.
Its a 12mm thread, unknown pitch (1.5 is standard IIRC) thats either 146 or 182mm long.

 

is it safe for me to assume that IIRC = If I Remember Correctly????
