Hardware to install an external wastegate
My 38mm ext. WG came with 2 banjo fittings, the 2 bolts for them, and 4 washers.
It also came with 2 bolts to bolt it to the manifold.
It also came with 2 of these goofy lookin washers:
What the heck are these for?

There were 2 washers exactly like this, I'm sure this is not a defect.
For the bolts that connect it to the dumptube?
Would it go something like:
Bolt->wiggly washer->WG flange->dumptube flange->nut?

its called a wave washer, its not a defect. it holds tension somewhere so so mething cant fall apart. I use them to repair air ratchets they go into the head under a snap ring and keep pressure on the pawls wich make the ratchet actually spin wen pressure is applied. I'm not sure if its supposed to go under a bolt or not. just saying its an actual part and not a defect.

And the plot thickens. I can't believe this has never been brought up before?!?
After searching through the 4 pages of external wastegate threads not one person has mentioned this.

the bendy ones are for the wg to mani connection....hence youd go cap screw...washer...thru wg...thread into mani
the other washers are crush washers to be used w/ the barbed fittings for vac/boost sources....1 washer on the bottom the the banjo...then another on top...and the hollowed bolt thru all three and thread into the wg....
side port is for a boost source...off the turbo or mani..
top port is for a e-boost controller boost source...they are all different so heck w/ manufacture for details....
if you have any more ?'s id be glad to answer them...

Re: (drumking15)
Thanks for clearing it up. You say that the bendy washers are for fastening the WG to the mani, check this
The 2 holes on the WG that are for fastening to the mani and straight through, not threaded. I would need a nut and bolt (which I have) for this.
The other 2 holes on the WG that fasten it to the dumptube are threaded. So basically I just need the bolt to go through the dumptube, then it threads into the threaded holes on the WG.
So... do I use the bendy washers with the nut/bolt combo to fasten the WG to the mani?
Or do I use the bendy washers with the bolts that go through the dumptube, and thread into the WG, which don't need nuts?

i would use the "bendy" washers on the wg to mani connection. for the dumptube i think you should still use a through bolt, washer and a nut, even though its threaded.

well thats due to the person that manudacutred your mani....you mani flange should be tapped....and then dumptube should be drilled since the bolts bolt into thr wg itself...
use bendy washer as lock washers....and the others as crush washers....and youll be fine...you really cant mess it up that bad...its more or less common sense
