half throttle, full boost question
If you are at half throttle you will not be at full boost no matter what rpm you are at. You do not hit full boost until you are at full throttle and your turbo is fully spooled up. The fuel is delivered by the ECU by taking the readings of the throttle percentage and rpm. Also if you have a boost dependent fuel pressure riser that also increases the fuel pressure once your in boost.

This is exactly why you don't want to tap the vacuum source from the intake manifold for your wastegate.. Your wastegate will not open when you really want
it..
it..
i thought that is where you were supposed to tap the wastegate.. its what the kit instructions said to do along with what i've heard on this site... so where is it supposed to be tapped?
I tap mine at the intake manifold. U can tap it at the compressor too. But if you tap it at the intake manifold, your wastegate will open slower.

I would say definitely tap the source somewhere between the turbo and BEFORE
the intake manifold/throttlebody.
If your wastegate is set at 7psi, and tapped from the intake manifold.. you can run
into situations where you have 10psi worth of boost pressure behind the throttlebody plate, but less than 7psi in the intake manifold. When you suddenly
decide to go full throttle, that whole 10psi will cause 10psi to instantanteously hit your manifold BEFORE the wastegate has time to pop open and relieve the pressure.
I think the reason that the instructions for installations didn't tell you to do this
is probably the fact that some t3/t4e turbos they get do not have a port in the
compressor.. in this case, it's far easier for them to just say to use the
intake manifold.
Many people on this board will tell you the same thing.. and my boost controller
installation instructions (Blitz SBC-id2) says the same thing.
I would definitely tap it after the intercooler, before the throttlebody for the wastegate source... and same for the boost controller.. BOV definitely from the
intake manifold.

im guessing if i tap it at the compressor ive got to drill??? how and where?
there any howto's on the internet?
