H23 Stealth kit
I was planning on building up my H23 to turbo and will only be running 7-9 psi. I want the kit to be stealthy, but make decent power.
Ie I want the manifold to look stock (DSM) and house a fairly big turbo (T04e ish but with better clearance). I don't mind if it spools at 4k+ (maybe not big enough exhaust side for that.. lol) to stay out of boost in daily driving.
Here's my question;
Since I'm going to be building it over time, what would be most beneficial to get first? I know everything I need, just need to know where to start at 7 psi (no internal work). Should I pick up a chipped P28 and figure out how to tune on Crome or build up my auto box?
Since it's got 115k I'm def. going to change the fluid and all that, but I'm not sure if I want to bulletproof it. I think I'll just go with a new torque converter at most.
TIA

why the hell would you want to invest ANYTHING into an automatic.
as for advice... drop in a manual transmission

Because that's what I've got and I don't want to dick around with a manual swap.
What's wrong with an auto? This is my DD, and if you think all turbo cars need to be manual, you're retarded. With a high stall torque converter and decent boost it won't be too bad.
So save your useless comments (jose) for some other day..

Re: (Attaus)
auto honda trannies suck from the factory, make your car slower, and it will probably blow up if your making more than 200 whp and drive even mildly aggressivly.
you could throw 600 whp through a manual.
if your going to "dick around" with a turbo, it is just simply smarter to "dick around" with a manual swap. fact. the auto ECU could also limit your tuning options.
research yourself to death.

I've seen an automatic 5th Gen Prelude turboed. Let me just say that my stock d16 civic coupe with intake and exhaust had no problems beating it.

Re: H23 Stealth/Big turbo kit (Jose1995GSR)
u guys are being pretty unreasonable.
Ive heard that u will have to buy a manual P28 and keep the stock PCM for the tranny.
I guess they take SOME abuse more than other honda auto's like D and B series so u should be ok.Just be ready to swap it out, hopefully with a manual.
Its what hes got, so do what u can
