Default h22 turbo simple question

I've read nearly all of the topics in this forum and i have a simple question....

Will fitting a full drag turbo kit running 7psi on stock internals need any kind of ecu upgrade to run it? or does the FMU that is included in the kit take car of this totally?

Forgive my ignorance on the subject but i'm from England and there are very few boosted Ludes over here.

I also appreciate that it is much cheaper and better to buy the different pieces of kit seperately but it is difficult to source them over here so its cheaper to just get the full kit.

Thanks

Adam

The FMU should take care of it as long as you don't try to boost over 7 PSI. Otherwise, you'll want to upgrade to some kind of engine managment (hondata, uberdata, etc..) and ditch the FMU.

i agree with bubs. i had an h22 turbo coup on 7psi. stock internals, fuel upgrades etc. it blew up. here in so cal, we have 91 octane donkry **** (gas). motor would have taken it but a faulty wastegate spring destroyed it all. with 7psi i think youd be straight and happy.

Thanks for the replys guys

I'd be leaving it running 7psi for a while till I could afford the bottom end work and engine managent upgrades for higher boost. We've got 98RON fuel easisly available over here so thats no prob.

I've read so much bad stuff about running boost even 7psi on stock internals but as far as I can tell if its set up correctly and the engine is in good condition theres no reason why it should blow (apart from faults with wastegates etc)

some people say seven psi is too much, and i think thats because of the comp ration. mine was 10.6 to 1. even then, it would have taken it were the w/g not bad.
