Default H22 supercharger...

has anyone tried to fit a JRSC for a 97-01 prelude into a 93-96 prelude VTEC? and what needs to be done in order to fit it?
is there any other kits that can fit? vortech? any?

there are only a hand full of ppl that have successfully got the jrsc to fit in a 4th gen. i don't really recommend it.
as for vortech, there aren't any kits for the prelude...but i'm sure you could build some sort of custom setup using their universal parts.

well Vortech won't know which parts to use because they haven't really done any setups for the H22A. But there are several shops they have linked that they say do custom work with Vortech superchargers.

I called Jackson Racing a couple of times and they said the 4th gen prelude does not have enough clearence between the motor and the firewall. They do not plan on making a kit for it due to 4th gen is getting old ( number of customer won't increase much in future = not worth their investment) and they don't want to deal with any liability issue. ANyway, that sucks, but guess we'll just have to cut the firewall if we're desperate enough

My understanding is that the 4th gen shock tower will also be a problem for clearance for the belt and pulley plate assembly. Not worth the expense/hassle, go turbo.

the man who would know all of your questions would be Ben Schaeffer. He is located in Woodbine Maryland. He does all my work. I was there when he was installing a JRSC on a 4th gen. Give him a call @ 301-854-6252 and im sure he would be happy to answer all of your questions...

Should you decide to go this way, I have just finished a very comprehensive10 lb JRSC H22A tune (took about a week for the part throttle and dyon tuning).

It covers all levels of boost under 11lb.

I'm racing two JRSC'd 5Gs at the PNM. Care to guess what the outcome will be? Turbo the BB1 or go high comp./big cams and let me put together a nitrous kit for you. I'll even put cute little Moogen stickers on the NOS noids for you. Gotta stay JDM y0!

hehe, this wasn't for my car anyway... it's for my buddy's Si actually. i just recently hooked him up with an H22A, but he also wants a supercharger. why? i have no clue. my advice was the same one you gave me...
as far as me, if i decide to keep my car and stay in the states, i'll either go turbo (if i can somehow get the seeds for a money tree) or good ol' all motor. maybe even nitrous... i don't know... we'll see...
what's with your car? running good? i know you probably spray like crazy...

I'm awaiting an S100 from KS-motorsports. I'll get that tuned in off the bottle and I'm leaving it at a 75 shot until I get to the track a few times. I want to go to the 100 shot, but I'm just going to burn my tires off if I do. The rest of my spring budget will either go towards some Adjustable shocks or putting the finshing touches on the 1 stage set up/starting to piece together the two stage set up. I've got alot of races set up, so there should be alot of kill stories this year. Hopefully one of them doesn't involve my engine.

ok, since i know you have played with nitruous a lot, here's a question for ya....
that same guy, a friend of mine, has a 92 lude with a JDM H22A, i/h/e, some weight reduction, and we're about to install a VAFC next week sometime. what would be the best nitrous set-up for him? have in mind he doesn't have $$ to upgrade the stock ignition and injectors (unless we get a good deal). however he got $500 to dump on the car, so nitrous was my suggestion. i don't think a 50shot would be a problem at all, but i want to know what we need to do exactly, and what to look out for. also, i was gonna take his intake manifold to get drilled for it, and i've seen a few different ways people do it. where are the best places for holes? (he doesn't really care about them being visible, btw). if you have some pics that would be awesome.
