if you already have both motors, it is all a matter of what you decide. this will always be debatable and subjective to the person giving their opinion. if i already had an h22 i would just turbo that...

H22 for sure man. Theres no need to go larger. If anything try to get a de stroker crank in the h22 to about 2.0 and rev the crap out the motor -pdang

Dartons pro kit is excellent. However Darton also has the sleeve replacements, which are quite a bit cheaper. When ordering, just make sure you get a "flanged" sleeve, so there is no possibility of sinking a sleeve. The Pro kit from Darton is a full flanged sleeve, to convert an open deck H22 (97+)into closed deck, but it still works on the already closed deck H22's (93-96) as well!

I am a little tied up at the moment, but i can answer the majority of questions you have about the h23 or h22a.

Darton sleeves is what you need to go with, Golden Eagle is also a reputable company. You must run these if you run a forged pistons. The only exception are the WISECO rings that are made for the FRM cylinder walls. But it's better to do it right the first time then to do it a second time.

What kind of power are you hoping to put down and what are your goals for the car?

What?????

IF you're asking the price, and where you can get it done it is roughly:

Flanged sleeve replacements appx. $300
Darton Pro Kit appx. $550
I forget how much I paid for install of my sleeves

You can call Darton, they can recommend a machine shop near you to do QUALITY work, or you can send it directly to Darton. OR.... Golden Eagle also has great sleeve kits,... but the turnaround time can sometimes be quite a while, but that is to be expected with machine work.

I had my engine done at: Edwards Supreme Engines in Spokane, contact Civicsitek, or Emerika on this forum. 93Lsivic also sells and installs Darton sleeves.

Isn't the motor that is in your car already built and sleeved?

I expect AEBS might have a stroker crank, but CROWER? H22 gets no love. I am VERY interested to see if someone has a destroker kit available, then again, there is no replacement for displacement !!!

The H series is not the best motor in the world to go about high revving. Would you care to shed some light on destroking the H22 to a 2.0 with me? Honestly, I would keep the 2.2 for the increased displacement and keep the revving in the 7-7500 range. You are not going to find a turbo camshaft for the h22 that will produce a large amount of power past the 8k range. And keep in mind, all H series camshafts are Re-Grinds. Besides JUN of course, which are geared towards all-motor, and Crower also makes some nice ones. Personally, I think destroking the H22 is not a good idea. My h23a is up to around a 2.4L now and it will be on the dyno next friday shooting for mid to high 400's. If i get some ***** I might just take it up to 500whp.

I have not seen a single high powered H series motor with a destroker kit in it. But then again, I am sure there are some people out there that have it.

Let's talk some tech about the issue so we can all learn a little more then we originally knew.
