Is a gurdle necessary?
Just wondering if i should go this route or not. Do you guys think a gurdle set up in a LS bottom end that ill be boosting high on is necessary? I asked import builders and they said dont waste my time or money cause i wont be spinning it that high. What do some of you boosted boys spin your motor to? thanks alot.

a girdle is a very wise investment .. even more so when higher revs are in your future or just to strengthen your bottem end

I think it's something to consider. Especially if you plan to build up your motor eventually. I have the Z10 crank girdle in my ls/vtec setup and im happy i got it.

Re: (speedworks)
no the block girdle is not NECESSARY, its just a add on to increase rigidity of the block. Unless you're making like 700+ hp I wouldn't bother with it.

Im not using one, and I dont think they are really necessary. Im taking my LS close to 10,000 rpms too. Probably wont take it up there when under high boost though. If it blows, it blows

yeh I always thought the block girdle was an integral part of a strong bottom end. Then I realized I have never hear of anyonee blowing there mains apart, at least on a honda.
