Which guages to get?
I picked up a jrsc for my civic and was wondering which guages you guys would suggest for me to install with the charger. I was thinking boost and A/F. How does that sound? changes? additions? Any answers are greatly appreciated.

a/f is a worthless piece of **** unless you have a wideband o2, or like to have a laser light show in a gauge for fun

Yeah I'd agree with that.... Unfortunately I went the cheap ricer route with Autometer gauges and they suck... They look tite cause their CF, but not very accurate... I only had em because they were vac. and a/f before I went turbo... Now I have to go back thru and replace them with some nicer more functional gauges...
But i'd suggest Boost, EGT, and Oil Pressure to start with...

i would recommend...Apexi El Series in: Mechanical Boost, Electronic EGT and Electronic Pressure...OR...AutoMeter c2 Series in: Boost 30 in Hg. - Vac./30 PSI, Air/Fuel and Fuel Pressure. IMO
i would pick fuel pressure over oil pressure if your gonna be JRSCed. on the best site question...i would do a google search or go to the search button and type in 'apexi gauges' and look in the 'Classifieds: Forced Induction' section or even look in the 'Best Buys' section. hope that helps ya out some...i haven't purchased my Apexi gauges yet, so i don't have a preference on a site yet. you might be able to find some on groupbuycenter.com
My thoughts were more for a fuel, oil, and boost gauges. the etg is not bad, but your not producing as much heat as a turbo so not as much to worrie about there.
The problem with 99% of the aftermarket A/F gauges is they are NOT reliable to do anythign with. You can not tune your car from them, you can't trust them to be completely correct. They are about 12-20% off from real readings average in testing on the dyno with real wide band systems.(Tthis is a averge so no slamming please). I would not recommend an a/f unless you just want the looks.

i have boost and egt, i had the "light show" but got rid of it. it only tells you if you are really really lean or really really rich. i dont mind the autometer gauges, they are good for what they are and price. the boost gauges get stuck a bit , i mean they read the right boost but dont move smooth, $50 as opposed to triple that for a greddy is fine with me. the autometer egt i got is good, but i wouldnt put it into the manifold, i put it right where the manifold meets the turbo and it reads past 1600 sometimes, even though i am untuned, i wouldnt put it in the manifold, i would put it right into the DP, i have heard from others that it runs out of scale.
anyways, get boost and egt,
anyways, get boost and egt,
Is an egt more important than an oil or fuel pressure gauge with the supercharger? I know that egt's are real important with a turbo, just wondering if it is as high on the scale for a SC.
egt are important period, it tell syou how your cylinders are doing, im not sure if the SC requires oil, personally i dont have oil and am not really planning on one, on VW's we have a good oil system, fuel pressure costs $20 for a jegs gauge, so get a jegs fuel gauge and a egt, egt over oil and fuel in my opinion
edit: especially since youre gonna be boosting, egt is very important

which Apexi El Series (el series b/c at night they have a light blue glow to them so they are easy to read) gauges should someone get for their JRSCed engine? i would think: Mechanical Boost, Electronic EGT and Electrical Pressure...i have also heard about the AutoMeter Boost gauge not moving smoothly, but they are reasonable in pricing.
heres a good website for purchasing apexi gauges... http://www.autosportz.com/acce...i.htm

You guys are making this tough on me now, I was only planning on buying 2 guages because I was going to get the gauge bezel and it only holds 2, but now i'm thinking that I should go with 3.
I would get in the order of importance:
1) Boost
2) Wideband w/display (if u got a budget for this)
3) EGT (If u ain't got budget for wideband)
4) Apexi Auto Timer for the a/f function (if u can't afford 2 or 3)
5) Fuel Pressure
6) Oil Pressure
7) Oil Temp
