gt40 on h22

Re: gt40 on h22 (98h22)
What's with the influx of terrible questions lately. Too big for what? Too big to make 300 WHP? Too big for an AutoX car? Too big for a hot rod drag car? Too big for a 600 WHP setup? Too big for a road course car? Too big for a low boost street car?
This is like saying "I bought a pair of size 13 nikes, are they too big for my feet?" without telling us anything else

Re: gt40 on h22 (96 GSR-T)
Here is the powerband of a GT4067R on a built h22. The gt4088R will have a very similar spoolup compared to this turbo... Are you looking at the non ballbearing version of the gt40, or the gt40r? If you want to properly use the gt40 on your h22, you need a turbo header that utilizes the divided housing properly. This required a manifold that pairs cylinder 2 and 3 together, and pairs cylinder 1 and 4 together. Also, individual wastegates for each of these pairings is required. You can find a manifold like this from http://www.full-race.com You will see great response out of the turbo if the manifold is designed like I stated above.

If he's new to this stuff, he shouldn't be thinking about slapping a GT4088 on a built H22
