My friend has a 92 Civic hatch with a pretty much stock GSR. We just finished installing a t3/t4 50 trim ebay turbo setup last week. He's also got RC 310cc injectors and a walbro 255lph fuel pump. Later on today im taking the head off to replace the head gasket, put in arp head studs, and put in a block guard. It hasnt been tuned yet, but it feels pretty good and sounds amazing lol. When i take the head off, what should i be looking for in terms of detonation or other things involved with running an untuned turbo setup?? I worked on many an NA but this is my first turbo'd honda motor im breaking open. I just want to make sure it doesnt blow up next week after i do all this **** haha!

How about you get it tuned ASAP, or at least don't hit boost until you get it tuned. You also shouldn't be running the wrong injectors for your ECU either, but that is far less important than the other mistakes you're already making.

Otherwise, make sure everything looks normal on the piston face and combustion chamber, and once its back together, wait for it to melt a piston if you don't get it tuned.

You didn't mention if you at least installed an FMU (a 12:1 FPR). If you haven't done that, do not even start again the car until you have a plan for fuel management/tuning.

ya come on man its 2010. tuning really doesn't cost that much (alot cheaper then cracking ring lands) get some bigger injectors and call around to some shops to get quotes on how much it will cost to get it tuned with crome.
