Default gsr turbo problems

hello, i have a 93 coupe with a 2001 b18c. stock internals. it has a garrett turbo. the car is running at 7psi tuned on a apexi afc2. the only problem i have with the car is when im on it and it hits full boost the car misses and like sputters. some people said i need to check spark plug gap, others said i need new tune. any help? i realy dont have the money to get it re-tuned.
thank you

Do you have a wideband!? How do the plugs look?? what plugs are you running?

dont get it into boost anymore til you figure this out.. if you dont have money for a new tune you REALLY dont have money to buy a new notor

7psi tuned on a apexi afc2

could be part of problem
was it tuned for fuel with wideband? do you plan on running timing for n/a on the 7psi?

i dont no much about it. i baught the car and drove it home. left for texas few hours later. i have not got a chance to check the plugs or anything. the guy said it was tuned. it only does this once and a while. it wil have smooth boost sometimes. others it will be rough...and i have no idea to work a afc iv never used one before so i will not touch it untill i know how to work it

well unfortunately we do not consider using the afc as "tuning". while it may allow you to change afr's it does not control timing. you're symptoms do sound like it could be the plug gap too though so do us and yourself a favor and check the things that have ben suggested (plugs, afr). Also i would start looking into a chipped ecu and some decent engine management

even if you do gap the plugs down, i still would not recommend boosting until you know what your timing and afr's look like. stock timing and boost are not a good combo. also what type of plugs are you using? should be bkr7e gapped to .028"

check and make sure u have no boost leaks on your charge pipes because i had nasty sputtering and the car wouldnt want to go anymore after it went into boost. fixed the leak and problem went away. check your plugs too

Take the charge pipe off and so you don't boost until you get the $$ to get it tuned. You are taking a really big risk by beating on a car that most likely doesn't have the correct timing changes made for boost. If by some act of God the timing is not an issue then like others said colder plug (bkr7e), plug gap (mine are gapped @ .024), dizzy (especially the coil pack in the dizzy.....I have gone through 3 and dont even drive my car everyday), plugs, dizzy rotor, dizzy cap.

Get the car tuned. You pulled the pin on the grenade.....put it back in and step away. ^_-
