Icon2 gsr turbo

I have a built b18c1. It is bored to 82mm and the block is pinned, the head is port and polished and has oversized valves. i was looking to turbo it and was wondering what else i should do to it and what pistons should i get. Also what is a good turbo kit to get. Im looking to get into teh 350-400 hp range

the block is pinned?
what is that?

350whp is easy.....
u can do it budget with a ebay .57 trim or a nice gt3076 with room to grow........

they drilled pins around the cylinder to make it stronger since its bored to 82mm

with 9.0:1 pistons and a gt3076 at 15 psi what would the horsepower range be

depends on when u want your spool times....the 30 will spool quicker than the 35...but the 35 will have more top end power and room for more....

Its not turbo what you should be worrying about at 82mm. I'd at least install some new stronger liners into it, Darton do replacement liners so have a look into them. There a lot stronger than OEM so they won't crack or go out of round quickly.

for 400hp he doesnt need to sleeve it... pinning works but support the stock sleeves to prevent them from flexing, but all it takes is one bad tune, bad gas or some detonation to nuke a stock sleeve.

I wasn't saying he needed to sleve it, theres a difference between sleeving it and replacing the liners.... Even if they don't crack they'll soon go out of round due to the heat inside them and he'll have a crap ring seal.

so you're saying every stock boosted motor needs new liners because they go out of round???

totally incorrect. people run thousands of miles on boosted stock motors without issue.

relining it with stock sleeves is pointless. and you've already pinned the block so you might as well get a fresh block and start over.

keep what you have, or get a new block and get REAL sleeves, like darton MID's or dont even bother

No i'm not, but the more you take off the quicker they'll go out of round and the weaker they are. Its not a good idea with the power his after. There's one thing it been a NA build but a FI setup its just to risky. Well this is how i see it anyway...

ive seen numerous 82mm builds make power. its not that big of a deal.. you could do 400 on a bone stock bottom end with nothing more than headstuds and a head gasket.
