Default gsr turbo?

im lookin to build a gsr engine for my 2nd gen teg. i want to pull about 450 hp out of the engine.. basically what i can get out of pump gas.. i have a list of items i want for the engine but i dont know what turbo to get.. im currently running a rev hard kit with t3/t4 turbo i like the quick spool and the low lag and would like the same or similar response but i dont know that my current turbo will be able to supply the boost i would like any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. heres my list:

eagle rods
JE pistons and rings
skunk2 pro 1 cams/turbo cams/or ITR cams (havent decided)
possibly the ferrea 6000 valvetrain and supertech springs and retainers
walbro 255 HP fuel pump
Precision 880 cc injectors
ram head turbo manifold (just cuz i like those)
ITR intake manifold
ARP headstuds and rod bolts
ACL bearings
New oil/water pumps and fresh bushings
Turbo??
.. im sure theres things im forgettin

Go with a set of itr cams. and is a couple good turbos that could get you your hp goals and at a decent spool. Consider a gt30 or even a garrett 60-1.

450whp, pump gas and quick spool aren't things that belong in the same sentence as "turbo GSR." That simply cannot happen. If you want to run pump gas, you're going to have to find a bigger turbo and run slightly lower pressure which is going to slow your spool. If you had access to E85, this story would have a happier ending, but as it sits, you're going to have to change one of your parameters to make something realistic.

Are you planning to stay with the RevHard kit but only change the turbo? That manifold, although it will work, is not necessarily the best choice for the power goal you have in mind. I would advise you to do a little more research before jumping into this endeavor

maybe i should clarify what i mean by quick spool i want a turbo that doesnt take forever to spool.. basically i want a turbo thats limit is reached just above the 450 range.. maybe a 500 hp turbo so that i have high psi and a quicker spool rate as compared to a larger unnessary turbo with a lower psi i would like to do a completely different turbo setup so i would be lookin at a different kit all together im sure i could find a turbo manifold that flows better and holds better i just happen to like the looks of that one in particular im sure if i looked hard enough i can find one with similar appearence and more effiency

Have you listed a budget and your supplemental parts? No one else can help if you haven't done that yet. The more info you give, the more you get.

Well if 'quick' is a relative word, there are several turbos that would fit your goal. Your budget dictates the exact choice. My personal choice was the Borg Warner S256. It will easily make the power you desire and mine spools pretty quick. If you want to see it in action, just search "Schister's GSR dyno" on Streetfire. I also have sound files that would make you drop the $$ in a heartbeat for an S256 .

If that's not an option, you should PM the guy above me about the GT3000 or Silver Surfer. Mac won't steer you wrong

With a ~$1200 budget, you can easily get the S256. If i were you, i would do a little independent research on it before deciding. There are a lot of options out there and this may not be the exact one for you. Look around and choose wisely
