Default GSR Setup

I'm looking to build a reliable DD GSR that has around 300-320WHP. It will be tuned on 91 octane. I read that a stock engine with head studs should be fine for that kind of power. Would Eagle rods and Wiseco pistons be overkill? I just want it to last as it's my only car and i want it to last. I will be going with a Greddy kit. Any input is appreciated.

A turbo car can be relable. I would suggest afrer you get boosted and tuned, to invest in a beater or so. I have a 337whp turbo DB2 and as it could be reliable but its a pain to make sure it doesn over heat!

If done well, a beater isn't needed, but why not have another daily "don't worry about crap" car, anyway.

Lol i appreciate the input but i'm a 19 year old full-time student and i work part time at a pizza place i can't afford a beater. Maybe next year some time. I have some money saved up for the turbo and i've wanted to be boosted for a while so i'm going with this first.

I would have to add...If your going to push your OEM components hard (at least close to the limits of OEM parts), your probably increasing the likelihood of breakdown. Therefore, building the internals and doing a modest boost instead; might be a good strategy for a long term daily driver.

Conclusion, I think an engine build would be a good move.

Note: You could get a cheap beater on craigslist if you keep your eyes open for good deals.
