i want to build a good reliable d16 turbo. here is what im thinking of doing
d16y8 block
im thinking of sleeving it
acl bearing
micropolish the crank
cp or vitara pistons
with either eagle or crower rods
blockguard from goldeneagle
moroso oilpan
d16y8 head
port and polish
comp or zex or crower cam
ferrea valves or crower
etc from supertech or crower
eldebrock intake manny or golden eagle intake manny
here is where im having the most problems i dont know which turbo kit or if should piece it together
i was thinking of the "Go-Autoworks" race kit with the semi ram manifold
suggestions and comments are welcomed remember i want it reliable and able to go to the track

Eagle Rods
Vitara pistons (if you stay around 15lbs of boost, otherwise use forged)
King Bearings (I like them a lot better than ACL's)
ARP headstuds
OEM or Cometic headgasket
Take your pick on the cam (and get the appropriate springs and retainers)
Port and polish
Skunk2 intake mani (unless running more than 10-15lbs of boost, then go Golden Eagle)
Hondata S300
RC Injectors
This will get you a reliable set up, at around 15lbs or so you should have about 300hp at the wheels maybe a little more. 20lbs and your nearing 400, and should be doing it safely.
and if youre going with vitaras i would go with fjt custom length rods. if money isnt a big deal then a kit from go autoworks would be the best choice. if youre on a tighter budget money can be saved piecing one together but not everything will fit perfect and some things will have to be altered here and there.
i would piece together you own kit that way you get exactly what you want and a turo kit to you preferences, brand, peformance etc....plus you learn a lot more that way

RELIABILITY being the key word here, sure there are Vitara set-ups pushing 600, but how many miles on them? reliable to me means you don't have to tear it down every winter. Vitaras are still just cast pistons. And because it'll pump 600 out for a dyno run does not mean its not gonna be de-tuned to a more reliable street tune (around 350-400hp) Again, he wants a reliable set up, not a push things to the limits motor.

you have alot to learn no offense. Its all in the tune. a motor can last 1 day if not tuned right or it can last several years. depends how it was tuned.
1.How old are you and what kind of cars have you been in, most 300whp civics will be more than enough for most people to handle
2. As everyone says you dont need sleeves unless you are shooting for records, stock sleeves are proven for 500+
Find a local tuner or talk to mine if you want. Your better off piecing a kit together. do you want a quick spool or big power? Budget for spending or goals?
