Default GSR Prep for boost

So i have a gsr motor that i plan on boosting and swapping into my DA sometime next spring or so but wanted to get the motor built and ready before the summer is out. My question(s) is that what route should i take on preparring it for turbo.

As for now i wanted to have a type-r crank, golden eagle rods, and je pistons for the bottom end. I also know that i need an oem head gasket, hondata system, arp headstuds, upgraded fuel pump and that kind of stuff. I just wanted some imput or suggestions on what else i should do.

I tried searching to see if it was already covored but didnt find much. If there is a link let me know and ill go from there. Thanks guys/ ladies

You can look at peoples setups and decide what you need based on how much power they make, and how much power you make.

It all depends on how much yoyu want to spend, the power you want to make, how high you want to rev, if its daily or a track car, and all of that stuff..

Well money wise, im lookin to spend anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000 before the kit. As far as power, my original goal was gonna be about 300 whp with boost. Now i guess imma shoot for about 350 whp since i know its possible without doin too much thats out of the way.

If its at all possible, i prefer for it rev at about 8500, or even 8700 if at all possible. Most of all, it would pretty much be a daily driver, but i may take it to the track in the future.

Thanks for the help

What are you planning to use the car for?? If you build the bottom end you can make a lot more power than just 300whp...i'm making more than that on a stock GSR block and daily driving it.

Once you decide your use for the car, then you can start building a turbo setup to reach your goal...do you want a drag car, street car, road race, mixed use??? Personally i'm steering away from the "peak hp" setups in lieu of something more streetable and fun...

Also, Golden Eagle doesn't make rods....Eagle does

judging from the OP's post, id have to say this is his/her 1st time with a boosted honda.

imo. boost the stock gsr engine (bone stock) you can easily make 300-400 safely on a bone stock engine, this will be more then enough to satisfy your boost craving.

so here are my suggestions.

walbro 255hp
750cc-1000cc injectors(depending on what your future plans are)
obd1 conversion(ecu/dist/jumper harness)
a decent turbo kit. (something along the lines of a F-R prostreet kit)
3inch dp/3inch exh
HD-6 puck (unsprung) clutch (ACT is my vote)
obx lsd- cheap and effective

this will be a very fast/reliable setup, being its properly tuned up, & if you take care of it.

Thanks on the correction, i always get the two mixed up. And thanks everyone else for all the info and imput. This will be my first boosted honda, and i wanted to make sure i did it the correct way and have it last for a while, without blasting the psi through the roof since i want the car mainly for street use.

I also wanted enough power to keep me satisfied for a bit and still have the ability to jump up if i wanted to in the future, but i didnt want to start of with too high of HP and burn rubber through all 5 gears and never get traction. If that ends up happening with just 350 whp.... then i guess im in for a ride lol. Thanks guys
