Thinkin
Hey guys i have a b18b1 n i feel like it can do a lot more lookin for a reliable buld right know all motor / prep for turbo in the futur what i have done so far is air intake i was thinkin on doin the internals can u guys give me an idea. On what should i start buying for a full bult internal job.
It's my understanding that as a general rule *most* (NOT ALL) n/a all motor builds are more reliable than turbo builds, but if you want to make BIG power you gotta boost.
Figure out what your goals are first. All motor quick or big power boost? Building for one then switching to the other in the middle is a HORRIBLE idea, because you need different parts and much different PLANNING for each.
Both ways you're gonna' need pistons/rods/etc, but it's about reading and planning and reading some more first.
What's the goal of the car? Fast street car? Drag strip queen? Full track build?
What cams are you going to run? If you boost, how much boost? Will you need to upgrade your fuel system in order to handle the added load? Do you need to upgrade your clutch to handle the added power? Who's going to Tune the damn thing (because really without a tune most builds are garbage, can't just throw parts at a car & expect to make real power) ??
Read. Plan. Read some more. Read other people's build threads to get ideas. Put in the work & have a plan with goals in mind, that way you won't waste your money and your time, and you won't waste other's time as well.
