gsr or ls pistons?
i have few questions for you turbo guys. is there a diffrence between gsr and ls pistons? i just bought a set of low compression JE pistons for my ls block and i want to know if it will fit in a gsr block without any other modification. i ask this because i have a ls block and crower rods for gsr and i know the rods are different between gsr and ls. so for me to use the crower rods (which is made for gsr) on my ls block i know i need to change the crank to gsr. but what else do i need to change to use those rods in my ls black? what about the crank caps or what ever those are called.
Use a compressor calculator with the stroke from both the LS and GS-R. It's just a change in compression. 9.0:1 for GS-R would be slightly higher for LS length rods.
i think my question was little confusing. what i am trying to ask is if i was trying to order a set after market low compression pistons for my motor, do i have to specify what motor its for; gsr or ls? or it doesnt matter? i know the bore size and compression matter and stock ls and gsr comes with same bore size and different compression.
what i am saying is i bought a set of LOW compression wiseco pistons stock standard bore 81 for my ls block. i wanted to know if i decided to use a gsr block rather than a ls block that i can still use the same pistons? and i found out i can because after reserching for little bit i was the same part number for both block and its same.
