what's the difference between gsr and ls pistons??

what's the difference between gsr and ls pistons??
well the title says it all??? im putting a ls crankshaft in a gsr idk wether to keep the gsr pistons or ls??? help anyone with any ideas...thnx

compression is different so the dome on the piston will be different, also consider that the rods on Ls i believe are longer so you will have to take that into consideration, im not 100% sure on rod length being different. Both are 81mm in diameter if the blocks have never been bored.

Just do a google search for b series compression calculator and use that to see the difference.
The LS pistons have a slight dish and GSR pistons are flat tops. ITR pistons look like GSR, but the center section is raised up sort of like a SI piston.

ok you cant use a ls crank with gsr rods. the big end on the gsr rods is too large. so if you want to go with a ls crank you have to use ls rods. also with ls rods i believe you have to mill the small end a little bc its too wide for gsr pistons... the gsr rods are .9mm longer and a the crank has a shorter stroke giving it a less favorable R/S ration than the ls. but the gsr rods are stronger. gsr pistons have higher compression than the ls pistons so you just should stay gsr.
