Gsr custom turbo
I am starting to research for a custom turbo set up. I would like to keep the price around $3000, maybe a little more, for everything not including installation. Could someone list all the components i would need and maybe some suggestions on what brands and such. I know i would need a turbo manifold, turbo, downpipe, intercooler, bov, intercooler piping, wastegate, and other stuff that i cant think of now. Please help me. I have searched and its just confusing me more than i was before i started. Thanks a lot
Edit: I would like to have at least a 2.5" Downpipe and would like to be able to keep a/c. I realize it may be hard to keep the a/c so it is not a must if the manifold or downpipe wouldnt fit.

I think he was looking for suggestions or opinions on what is best for his future custom turbo setup, rather then buying a part from a company when he just finds out that he should of baught it from a differen't company and makes him feel like he wasted money, you know your like that to buda18, if you wanted to buy something you want the best or try to get the best..
This isnt a bad question buda18, the guy said that he was getting "confused" the more he looks around, so how is this person supposed to keep looking when he is getting more confused, He might not have alot of people in his area that are turbocharged to ask around for advice.. so give a guy a break and either help him out or dont go off posting in his thread saying theres no point for this thread..
Its like you asking a simple question on this forum and someone saying this thread is pointless, go look at the helms manual or look around before making this thread.. its not like anyone is paying for this forum .. its all free space, if the admins dont like it they will delete.. very simple.
All The guy wants to do is learn.. everyone has to start somewhere.. no one is a professional wihtout starting from ****..

You have named all the main parts to a turbo kit. Now the thing is making a choose. Rev Hard has a great kit. That if your car is built right you can make up tp 450hp. And to top it all off you can keep A/C.

Re: Gsr custom turbo (rocket256)
i will probably end up just getting a revhard kit. From what i have read that is the most recommended kit. I would piece one together but i dont know if its such a good idea since it will be my first time with boost.

I peiced mine together with a ssautochrome tubular mani, t3t04 from cheapturbos.com, front mount intercooler, 2.5" mandrel bent intercooler piping, 1st gen dsm BOV, dsm 450 injectors, resistor box, tial wastegate, vafc, custom 2.5" mandrel bent downpipe and testpipe, and a FMU. All for about $1800. I installed it all myself. I'm running 8psi on the road and 10 at the track. Putting down 263.2 to the wheels on a stock motor. All for $1800. Spend the other $1200 on internals.

spend part of the $1200 and get rid of the fmu/vafc and get hondata and a good tune...
i would just figure in the price for hondata and tuning in with the price if you want a good reliable setup...not to say some people can get away with doing it other ways but this is what ide do.

Re: Gsr custom turbo (gritsak)
after talking to a few people this is what i have came up with so far:
precision sc61 turbo
inline pro t3 manifold
precision intercooler 26.75" x 6.2" x 3.5"
tial 38mm wastegate
hks ss bov or gen 1dsm bov
build my own intercooler piping from pipes on jcwhitney
oil lines from flamenco-t
3" exhaust piping and muffler from accordinglydone.com
3" hi flow cat or test pipe (not sure yet)
2.5" rev hard down pipe possibly cut and tapered to 3"
hondata s100
what im not sure of is what size injectors i should get, if i need a fuel pump, and if i need a dump tube? also do i need to convert to obd1 to use hondata?

Re: Gsr custom turbo (AirWaveGT)
I don't know that an SC61 is really needed unless you plan on making insane power, especially since T04E's and even 60-1's can be had for cheaper thanks to the Precision hype but, that's your call.
I'd go for 550cc injectors and a Walbro intank, good for ~400whp which should leave you with lots of room to spare.

For best results, you probably should.
