Gsr block Type R piston on boost Question
So its known i searched 10 pages and couldnt find what i was looking for so sorry if this has been asked before. im not a forum ***** but i know how things work.
Question.
Im currently running a b16 57 trim on 8 psi. I have a GSR block with Usdm type r pistons and a jdm b16 head. Motor is stock . How is the block going to handle boost in comparison to a gsr block? is the compression much higher? I know without a good tune it doesnt mean ****, but how many psi can i run dd. Should i juss put in stock gsr pistons?
Thanks for your time and input.

If you have stock GSR pistons laying around, i would run those over the ITR. You're running a poormans ITR currently with that GSR block and b16 head. It's a higher compression motor and generally means that your tuner has a smaller room for error.
That being said, however, you can keep the pistons that you have in there now and tune. Don't worry about what psi will be used, that's for your PROFESSIONAL tuner to decide. There's no point substituting one cast piston for the other. If you're willing to split the motor apart, then get the right pistons AND rods and do it correctly instead of boo-booing around w/ a lot of cast stock parts.
Im currently boosting 5psi from my jrsc that i installed on my high comp.(11:6) all motor gsr https://honda-tech.com/forums/appearance-build-threads-122/c-street-sleeper-want-feedback-comments-lots-pics-%2A%2A%2A-2556604/ bumping boost soon..
