Default Greddy Type S VS HKS SSQ BOV

I am thinking about trading my HKS for the Greddy type S bov. I had the greddy in my last car and loved the way it sounded. I never had a problem with it. But my one friend is claiming that the HKS is far superior to the Greddy. He claims the greddy will leak and not work well with higher boost. I know full race uses them on their backdoor inter coolers and with their turbo kits. Just want some opinions and any useful info would be great. I tried searching but nothing came up.
Thanks

Not exactly sure what you are looking for in a replacement, but here are my thoughts...

Best Function= Tial BOV - excellent quality, superior design, works great.

Best sound??? can't really help you here - subjective opinion and not that important to me.

In regards to Greddy Type S VS HKS SSQ BOV , if it aint broke then don't replace.

I have never had a problem (leak or otherwise) with my SSQV, but from what other people have said they can sometimes leak.

I guess the info I am looking for is the HKS better then the Greddy. As far as is the Greddy more prone to failure or leaking boost or just flat out not working and causing compressor surge? I heard the Greddy did not perform well on the evo's, running like 19psi but they are running a different setup so it is like comparing apples to oranges.

Not in sound b/c I know the Greddy owns HKS in sound.

Greddy type s was designed for low boost applications...tends to leak boost under high boost...

You'll get both camps saying one is better than the other. I would say research it, then decide on one and find out if it is what you thought it would be.
