greddy turbo timer install
I a 98 GS-R and a greddy turbo timer...
there are four wires
red
green
blue
black
can anyone tell me which wires I need to tap on the vehicle itself ?
like red is 12V constant, I can tap it into any power source, it's the 12V ignition and accesories is what I need to know...
TIA

I do not remember the wire colors, but you tap into the 2 primary ignition harnesses. One has a huge white wire and that is constant 12v. The other harness has IG1 and IG2 in it. If you can source a copy of the Helm manual page, it has a diagram/picture that explains everything. You only need to hook up these 4 wires, the rest can be disconnected.

Take off the plastic covers that are on the steering column and the ignition barrel is labeled on the opposite side of the keyhole (black plastic end).
make sure u don't twist the wires coming out the back of the timer in a weird way . i did and my timer acts up sometimes. This is my second timer after the first one stopped working with my alarm (the car would not arm anymore). Yes i did add a relay and it was working for a week. It just stopped working one day.

I soldered into the wires, wire taps suck.
Wire taps don't always make the best connection, and can come loose. Never had a problem with anything I've soldered into my Civic including the A/F gauges, AVC-R, V-AFC and timer.
I took my pocket knife, cut off some of the sheathing of the white wire, stripped a lot off of the red power wire for the turbo timer and wrapped it around the exposed white wire. Then electrical taped the whole thing. Works well.
