Default greddy kit questions

So yeah.. got a d16y8 and thinking about getting a greddy kit 'cause it's cheap and i hear it's more 'daily driver' ish. 20-50+ hp/tq is what i'm looking for. I'm not going to be rebuilding my motor or anything crazy.

Looks like it's lacking an intercooler and a few other things. Two questions to anyone who's installed this:

1. Is it okay to run this as-is, on a fairly healthy stock d, or am i going to have to add parts that it leaves out?

2. At what point does this baby spool? I'm looking for some low/mid-range torqe n' hp, not gains starting at 5000rpm. If it's one of those crazy-high rpm kits, can anyone here reccommend an affordable kit that is more geared for low/midrange?

Any answers are very appreciated..
thanks

If you build your own kit, you could have better parts and spend less money

But you gotta remember, thats all he wants...
The greddy kit isnt right for everybody, but for some people its great.
The greddy kit will also be an awesome learning experience for you... You can upgrade a 2.5" or 3" downpipe and make more power that way, if you wanna go that route. I have a greddy kit as well, so I know sorta a lot about it, i'm trying to learn everything I can.
If you want to upgrade later, you could upgrade the turbo to a gt2860rs or something like that.
I hope that helps.

Thanks numb.

I know you have a different engine than me, but did your kit come sans intercooler, proper oil wiring, and blow off valve also?

If so.. what'd you add?

& Mortification.. let me know when yours is on, i'd like to hear about your results

Time to open a savings account..

I actually bought the kit used, i was on an extremely tight budget.
The guy lied and said it was for a gsr, but it came off of an ls.
It didnt come with an intercooler, or blow off valve. The oil lines he gave me were all messed up, so I bought an oil feed and return line kit from stealthmode. Unfortunately, that didnt work either. I needed a 90degree bend, so the straight that stealthmode gave me, wouldnt fit. The kit came with a johnny racecar intercooler, as well as a greddy type s blow off valve. I added 650 cc injectors, and a turboxs dual stage mbc.
I'm happy overall with the kit, it gave me a decent amount of torque, which isnt easy for hondas, I dont know exactly when it fully spools, but it gives me a big enough power band, so I'm happy.
right now I have the stock 2" downpipe, but sometime in the next few months, by christmas or so, I will have a 3" downpipe and 3" full exhaust.

If you need anything else, dont be afraid to ask.
