if your going to convert to obd1 then its stupid to use something like e-manage...might as well go hondata, crome or uberdata...much better

I don't think the old e-manage let you mess with ignition maps. I could be wrong though.

It does, but not with the same resoltion. Also the Blue doesnt have all the functions the Ultimate has. The ultimate can be compared to a Hondata type unit now with function. Maybe even more function.

yeah, ill be going with the ultimate soon, i got obd2b, and i would go with uber or chrome, but no tuners here, and im not buying a new ecu, conversion harness, and burners and chips. also, its a bitch for anything else, because you got to open up the computer and desolder and solder stuff in there. i dont trust myself with a car that i need to drive everyday. i cant afford to have my car out of commission for even a day. also, in MD, the emissions on obd2 and above they dont even have your engine running. they just hook up to the obd port and turn the electric on. i dont feel like switching ecus just to do emissions, i rather just keep my obd2.

its simple, they want to make more money. they wont make as much money by just upgarding the software as they would by creating a whole new product

all you gotta do is convert to obd I
</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yea.but legally pass inspection with a turbo? awsome.....for ny they don't do sniffers. So eliminate the second 02 sensor, and use this managment...basically you can have a fully tuned and LEGALLY inspected obd2 car. pretty cool in my book

Well i see that everyone is undecided on what ECU is better. I just want anyone's professional opinion, I have a 99 si which is OBDII and i know that in order to use hondata you need to convert to OBD 0 or I. Now being that I live in NC for the time and they are starting the whole emissions check through the OBD II hook up, I dont see a way i can use Hondata. So can anyone highly recommend an ecu i can use with the OBD II. I am planning on installing a full race turbo kit here soon and I want to get the ECU once i install so It can be tuned properly and so I can get the power levels I want to achieve. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

I had the emanage for a while, but the 2 hour install because of confusing instructions, constant CEL's even though it was hooked up correctly, extra expensive software for fine tuning required, extra bogus harnesses, and OBD2 learning around the fuel maps caused me to sell it a month later. I have too heard the great success of other cars using the Emanage, but the Honda crowd may not be embracing them due to the problems I have encountered.
Now I have Crome in an OBD1 ECU, it runs like a champ, is more finely tuned and doesn't throw CEL's.</TD></TR></TABLE>
the old emange works flawlessly, and does exactly what it was meant to do. if you were having problems with it, then its most likely install/user error. unless of course you had a defective unit. i've installed and tuned a few of them and never had a problem with it.

I agree. I've never had any problems with the E-manages that I've used and assist tuning also. 2 cars on e-manage and not one issue.
