The block is cast iron right? How do your pistons hold up?

You ever post on vwvortex?

there are emissions here but only in the portland metro area, when my tags are up next year i'm gonna register the car somewhere else the car will still be running OBD2 though, just a 16v head
there were many things that cause the motor to blow, i was running a zex dry kit, i had a 75hp nitrous pill with a 65hp fuel pill, i was running bosch platinum 4+ plugs, a techtonics chip that advancing the timing, so it was pretty much a ticketing time bomb

That looks like a good setup. I'm putting a T3 on a 97 A3 golf tonight. it used to be an automatic too.
except for the 5 speed trannys and the engine managment the A3 2.0 x-flow is prime for turbo. it's so strong it can blow diffs like no ones business!

you have a 16v head on the ABA block? why not start with a 1.8t, my favorite FI engine

we've run platinum plugs too, with the techtonics chip too, and it just wouldn't blow... we were trying to grenade it.. LOL...

And as far as the diffs blowing, they dont need power to do that... lol... my girl's grenaded the tranny just driving down the road on her way to work

b/c it's cheaper and easier this way and some say the 16v will produce more power

1.8t's bottom ends really are bullet proff. The head is one of the best flowing heads made bar none. But the 1.8t is also hella expensive.
