is this a good size turbo

Re: is this a good size turbo (NightHawkC5)
depends what your goal is. Top end power with turbo lag? Low end power with a faster spool but with lower top end? It all depends on what your looking for. But if you have the money, Id say a hybrid would be best, you can achieve an all around power band type turbo with reliability, but then again, if you have the money.

oh yeah, fergot to add.... when running high boost (which you might have the tendacy to do witha t03 or 04) you lean out your cylinders which means you have a higher chance of detonation (detonation= boom). Getting a a/f ratio controller or something similar is probally a god idea if youre going to run stock internals.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=142398 and https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=320706 and (theres a calculator link somewhere on honda tech - punch in numbers and it does the math for you)
the above will help you understand which compressor to run..
information about turbine side: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=153810
it wasn't easy to select which turbine to run.. since no formulas really available.. more like trial and error..

Re: is this a good size turbo (vtec.dc2)
i couldnt do all the math too confusing for me but thanks Id rather go with a little bit of turbo lag and good top end w/ spool up at around 4500 or 5000

Re: is this a good size turbo (1320development)
is a t04/t3 a good size turbo to run on a ls with stock internals and upgraded fuel
specifics?
there are many too choose from.
for the exhaust you can have a T3 w/ either .36, .48, .63, or .82AR. you can then choose between a stage 2, 3, or 5 wheel in corresponding trims.
for the compressor you can have a T04 w/ either a T04b, t04e, or T04s housing. depending on the housing you can choose your wheel trim between a 40, 46, 50, 54, 57, 60, 60-1, 62-1, stave V, stage S, and stage H.
then you have "hybrid" hybrid T3/T4's like the "hifi" 60-1 which uses a t04e housing rather then the standard t04s. you also have precision turbo's which are also T3/T4's and then innovative makes a 55trim etc etc. lots of T3/T04's
to choose from.

Re: is this a good size turbo (NightHawkC5)
well i have a t3/04e on my type r, 60 trim and 63 hot side.
the turbo is a bit on the laggy side, but keeps spooling up thru my whole rpm band plus . . . . so i dela with the lag to knwo i will keep boosting up top .
my friend with his R has the same tuerbo but diff trim , he has 60 trim with 53 hot side i think and he said it loses power 8k and up .
so it depends what your looking for.
