Default boost level vs. different turbos

ok, we all know as a general rule stock gs-r is good for about 8 psi?

But what's more important is what size turbo are we talking about? Because as I understand it, 8 psi with a leeeetle turbo won't be pushing the same amount of volume as a larger turbo.

curious at work...

larger turbo = more air/volume = more power

if you want to match your engine size to turbo it will take a little bit of research but most people run one of several types of turbos.

most here are drag biased... spool a little slower, slight ly larger.. more top end once it's going...

greddy smaller turbo, spools quicker.. good power distro down low andmidrange.. but runs out of steam (some say it does) at higher levels...

trim level will aid in spooling and power potential...

what exactly else do you want to know?

When I was getting out of the Marines in Cali the Orange County Sherriff's PD was trying to snag some of us for prison duty...all they cared about was that we were Marines.

I think to get into the LAPD, all they care about is whether or not you can spell hopeful .

Just kidding
and in case you wonder why my messages are almost always edited it's because I always notice I misspelled something AFTER I post.

cool. post answered. internet is great again.

I'm kinda boost ignorant, so that question wandered into my mind what I hear people saying what max safe boost is on a stock motor.

But then I also realized that my friend's Z was much stronger with his upgraded turbos, even though he was pushing the same boost. So it didn't make sense to just list a "max safe boost limit" if differently sized turbos are making different amounts of heat and moving different amounts of air.

But the responses clarified things. Thanks again.

BTW, how ya enjoying the glock jake?
