Default Good setup for boost?

Hey,

I've got an LS-V with a B16B head, B18A Bottom, and ITR pistons. Some people on here have said that the compression ratio is too high because of the pistons, others say it should work fine. 2 questions:

1) Can I get reliable power running 6-8lbs of boost with this setup?

2) Would going with a supercharger be safer than a turbo?

turbo or supercharger personell prefrence but turbos better in my eyes and will deff make more power. and yes 6-8 psi will be ok as long as you have enough fuel and a good tune you'll be fine. what is the cr ?

The CR is the unknown at this point. I bought the car the way it is, so I'm not sure which head gasket he used. I'm not sure what his intention was when he was building it.

Correction: I just dug up the original ad for the car and found out it has CTR Pistons. Will that make a difference?

yessir. im new to boost myself. but assuming the previous owner had the block bored .20 over, used a 3 layer gasket, ur cr should be something like 11.7:1 if the head was not shaved. and like i said im new to boost myself. but 11.7:1 + boost= good *** tune * cross your fingers.

My question is how much power are you trying to make on this setup? Sounds like the car was setup to be all motor.

I'm looking for 250-300 hp, nothing too big.
