Default Is this gonna be a problem?

Hey All,

I think I already know the answer, but I will ask anyways since the house doesnt want to come off so I can rotate it... Will having my oil feed and return horizontal (versus vertical) be a problem? Will there be enough oil pressure to just push the oil right thru or am I gonna be risking toasting the bearing?

Anyone know a good way to get the turbine housing off without beating up the shaft/propeller?

Omg lol.. this is the same exact problem I had.

Same turbo and everything ford air research 60/.63 t3.. good little turbo you have there

Ok what u want to do it put your turbo in a vise by the center section.

Make sure u take all the bolts out of the exhaust housing and then just BEAT THE **** OUT OF IT!@ going around both sides.

It took me and my 300lb 6'8" arab friend about 5 mins of hard hitting! We would hit at the same time on opposite sides of each other.
The heat expands the cast and also the carbon builds up.
Since that turbo is 83-84 so its pretty old. But any ways just beat it till it eventually will fall off, then you can rotate it to where u want
Here are some pics

I first tried that HUGE MONKEY WRENCH!@ didnt work.. thought I was going to break my engine stand. so then I beat it with 2 hammers. and it works

Got it turned to where I wanted straigh down

This post scared me!!! My new SC61 center section came upside down...I didn't think anything of it, just figured I would lossen the 6 bolts and rotated the exhaust hosing until it was in the right position. Then people said you have to heat it up and pound on it with a hammer!!!! I didn't want to pound on my baby...so just for kicks I pulled the 6 bolts out of the ex. housing and the housing came right off no problems... I feel much better now. hehe...just goes to show that all turbos arnt the same

nice turbo...is that turbo from a tbird w/ A/R.63 on the turbine? looks just like the one I have here. How does it run on the SOHC. Is that a stock motor?!?!?!

Its not running quiet yet. Yes its the one from a tbird. I got it from my buddy who put a t3 60-1 on his 2.3l.

There is no way you would need to hit or heat up your new turbo. It has not been heated or had carbon build on it for 10+ years lol. Thats the only reason that I had to hit mine.

I just need some rings for my je's and that motor is done

D16z6 with 8:5.1 je pistons and crower 4340 billet rods.
Acl bearings
Arp headstuds
Str blocksaver block guard
Zex strip/street cam
All OEM Honda gaskets.
Hondata intake manifold gasket
full 3" down pipe no exhaust

and its going into my 90 crx with full obd 1 convert and hondata.

Only thing holding me back is rings and rc 550's or the motor would be getting broken in right now. But also I have to wait for payday tommorow

So I will let u guys know the numbers. Looking for 300+ hp

KEEP THE BOLTS IN THE TURBO. Just loosen them. I took mine out, and bent the fawking main shaft when I got too crazy w/the hammer. Just some helpful advice.
