Are the sleeves connected to the block via "fingered design"-type sleeves (think block guard)?

don't sweat it. they are very good about standing behind there sleeve jobs. we sent and old *** block back them they did like 2years prior and they took care of us.

they probably do 2-3times as many blocks as AEBS, so its very hard to compare there failure rates.

You want to hear of one? They sank on my friend's QR motor on the dyno. He was thrilled. I will see if he can get me pictures. After that never thought about going AEBS. Enthalpy / Scott can vouch for this as he was the tuner.

I always dealt with Vince when he worked at Golden Eagle Mfg. Dealt with his father and Rob a little bit as well. Never had any problems. Great customer service.

bottom line is that there is no such thing as perfect no matter where you go, human error is something that we just have to deal with. when making a decision, i felt the amount of blocks GE does and standing behind their word was enough for me.

Just to let you all know, I am still the owner of GE and I still stand behind that company! I highly doubt there have been any legitimate issues with GE in the last 2 - 3 years! Our new design is superior and 100% guaranteed for the life of the sleeves! I trust them in my race cars, and in the race cars of my peers! I have YET to have a single problem, and my blocks get the same treatment as the rest of them do!
