Default Going turbo on the rex w/ z6...opinions?

Well, I want to put a d16z6 in the rex, w/ turbo, as the stocker is losing compression. However, it seems like all the longblocks I can find are like $600! I would rather spend like $300. So a couple choices...

Go ahead and buy a longblock, silly.
Get a bare z6 block (found a free one), rebuild the a6 in it, with the LS rods I have laying around. Buy a z6 head and put it on it.

This will be w/ the T25 off the eclipse. Building for autocross, not drag
