can i upgrade my fuel pump before i go turbo. im going to boost my car, but i want to know what fuel pump is the best for a t3t4. also the fuel injectors.
this is going to be on a d15z1 turbo.

can i run a 255 fuel pump on the stock motor for a while. and injectors 440 maybe for a couple of months? ive also gotten a fuel press reg already.

You can upgrade the pump but you will need to wait on the injectors untill the ecu is tuned for them.

if i install the pump like a 255 can i run on my stock ecu and injectors? i will also leave my fuel pressure regulator pressure regular.
will that run my motor rich?

i will change my injectors later.

You dont change the injectors untill you change the ecu and you only do that when you are boosted.
The pump will be fine and it wont make it run rich because the fuel pressure regulator will keep the pressure the same

No.
The walbo pumps up the fuel psi so you will run a lil rich. I have seen people go from stock 43psi fuel, to 60psi fuel just by installing the pump.

If i was you i would get the pump and an adjustable reg and get all that tuned. YOu can do it your self just make sure the pressure is right and it will run just fine.

The injectors can go in but the ecu will need to be tune for the injectors.

okay, so if i put the fuel pump and if it pumps up the psi can i use my fuel regulator to regulate the pressure? if i turn back to regular pressure do i still gotta tune it. or no?
i got a vafc also on it right now?

Just save yourself the headache and do it all together. Get rid of the VAFC and get a proper tune. There is no reason to replace just your fuel pump and injectors if you aren't boosted yet, unless there is something wrong with them. If there is, that's the kind of thing you mention in the OP.

Yea an adjustable fuel reg will turn down the fuel psi.
The afc sucks ***. Dont install it. Sell it for money for an adjustable reg.

I would agree with waiting to do it all at once. I am sure nothing bad will occur, FPR, but its easier because your just adding more work for yourself each time.

I ran my gsr with a walbro fuel pump just fine with no issues of running rich. You don't want to install the injectors with no tune. From my experience you can run a 255 fuel pump just fine

If he installs now then he does. And yea he can wait till he has all parts, but installing now cuts down on install day, and bugs on that same day.
I had my ic installed with caps on a month before the turbo went on, also fuel management with injectors a wk before the turbo went on. Kinda just took one thing at a time vs putting everything on the same day and having a problem n not knowing what part caused it.

i guess... until you put the 255 in and realize your fuel pressure went up so you would have to tune for that.

I am installing my fuel pump before I get tuned so that I can verify that it is working properly. That way if I have issues after installing the 100 new parts it takes to go turbo I will know its not the fuel pump.

Walbro 255lph will work great. Which injectors you need depends on your hp goal.

That's ridiculous. Everything bolt on or together. If you mess up the PHYSICAL install you have other issues you need to think about. The hardest part of it is making sure all the parts are going to work together in the first place, then the tune. If you cannot swap out a simple fuel pump and know you did the job correctly, let someone else install it.

My Lightning takes 2 fuel pumps. I upgraded to two 255lph Walbro fuel pumps and one of them was defective. The pressure drop at high rpms was a hard thing to diagnose because I thought no way one of my new pumps was bad.

The last thing I want to do is throw everything together and not be able to test it out cause I am on a base tune. Then drive 6 hours to T1 to discover I have a defective fuel pump. I really dont see how that is ridiculous.
