going with E85, just wondering what size injectors??
A customers motor
-Type R head, ported by Alaniz few years back flows 275cfm, I just re-did the valve job on a NEWEN cnc Machine with a custom spec vj, heads flows 290cfm now
-PerformerX manifold bored out to 68mm/runners cleaned up
-OmniPower 68mm tb
-Rocket M22xx cams
-Rocket springs/retainer
-SMSP 1.9 Header
-RC 550cc injectors
-oem GSR fuel pump
-usdm type R block 81.5mm wiseco 12.5:1cr
-Manley rods
-Oem Main bearings/ ACL race rod bearings, oil clearence was set at .0018" on both Main and rods.
I pretty much know how much power this motor will put out, I've done a few of this same build and roughly makes around 220whp, but I've only done it on 91oct and 440cc injectors.
I know E85 is old news for some of you guys, but believe it or not I havent tryed it.
The customer is staying all-motor for the mean time and wants to know if his 550cc injectors can take care of the fuel supply of e85? I know E85 will use up about 30% more fuel to burn efficient like regular pump gas but he is in desperate mode to make this car run and wants to use what he's got to make it run, unless he has to upgrade injectors.
Then of course like we all always do, trying to blow **** up, he is also going to add a direct port Nitrous kit of 150 shot to it once he feels the needs to make more power and go faster. By then he knows that he needs to ditch the 550cc injectors and get something bigger and new fuel pump perhaps. What size injectors would he be needing by then? 1000cc??
Thanks in advanced

Re: going with E85, just wondering what size injectors??
I had been toying with this idea myself. Im going with a fully built from top to bottom D16y8 with BW s256 turbo and looking to run about 25 psi. Already running walbro 255 pump and ID 1000cc injectors but would like to know is how this stuff works with water/meth injection? Also I understand its a must to get a new tune but once its tuned for E85 thats it right no going back to say 91 or 93 unless you retune? Thanks

ive been wondering this too...im running an all motor setup...ferrea valves, skunk2 pro3 cams, supertech springs and retainers on a ported gsr head. i have 550cc grams injectors...would that be good enough to run e85?
bottom end is a b20 block with weisco pistons 84.5 bore. and have AEM fuel rail anf FPR.

I would get something larger with your specific mods since you are heavily modded. Technically you want twice the size of the injector you'd need if using gasoline. ( i googled this information, you can too) get 680s or 750s

1. Figure out your power goal - for NA, i'm guessing its under 250whp, so that's my baseline number. If that's less than your expectations, feel free to adjust my math.
2. Determine fueling needs on gasoline
250whp x 6cc(per whp) = 1500cc total fuel flow
1500cc / 4 injectors = 375cc minimum on gasoline
3. Upsize for Ethanol +30%
375cc x 1.30 = 487.5cc injectors minimum for 250whp
Your current 550s will support 282whp on E85
(550x4)/(6x1.3) = 282
Based on this, you should be able to work out what your setup needs...
