Default going from closed to open loop pcv- see pics

Ok so right now i am in the process of replacing my exh. gasket. And I took off my preturbo intake and saw all the crap my closed loop pcv was pushing through the compressor. So I want to switch to open loop pcv.

In the left side of the picture u can see my catchcan with the hose going to the preturbo intake slashcut. Can I just remove the slashcut and that hose and put a breather filter there, will that work alright? Althought highly illegal

bump

another weird thing- the hoses coming off the block have some milky stuff near where the nipple is- i think its just from when i first installed them there was some condensation in the lines. If the water condensation in the lines mixed with the oil would that explain the milky stuff.

there is no milk in the oil or oil in the coolant (my first worry), also no milk in the valve cover...

yeah get rid of that slash cut ASAP. Think of the vacuum force the turbo is using to suck oil(vapors) into the intake, that stuff builds up inside the compressor housing and intercooler making it less efficient and oil vapors can lower your octane rating when they mix in the CC. don't worry about the legality...if you've gone this far(turbo etc.) why not?

well lets not make any mistake running the slashcut isnt a bad idea- the catchcan is baffled and the ic sorta acts as a secondary catch. Not the best but still- not like the end of the world. Just needs to be cleaned occasionally.

But now that ive taken it off and seen the amount that gets deposited i think that i would prefer running open breather.. Just wondering if running the breather directly on the can is ok...

also what about the milk in the lines? condensation and oil?

for teh pcv you can alway do a slash cut tube in your downpipe. we did that on my friends 240... i think the slash cut pulled like 7-15in/hg at wot

yeah i want to run a slashcut in the dp but i dont have the required welding tools.

Ok so I just want to put a breather on the nipple where the slashcut is right now- can i do that , is it safe and whatnot?

Also I just emptied out my can- there was all this CRAP in it like greenish milkyish **** that smelled like gas- this normal blowby crap?

thx!

i have a question, i am about to install my turbo and run a similar et up, except i was going to run the hose from the pvc valve on the valve cover to the catch can, then the other hose to the intake. But i see that yours is set up different. You have two hoses going down to the back of your block and a fliter on your valve cover. What is the difference between how you are running it and how i plan to?

Don't mean the thread jack, just thought that it was a similar question.

you need to remove the valve or hollow it out.

No real diff other than that-

what valve do i need to remove, and why? the valve will but under vaccume just like it is w/o the turbo. nothing really changes so what would need to be hollowed out?

When Carb Conn blew my ring lands my closed loop system put oil everywhere I didn't want it, Including about a quart in the IC

You have 2 lines going to the catch can and one going to the slashcut. I know one is coming from behind the block, where is the other one coming from? The valve cover has a breather filter

both are coming from the block- there are fittings from honda which allow you to add more ports on the block for pcv venting- i have two.
