Default Ran with a kinked valve breather hose, now i overheat!!

Can any of you guys help me out?
i've had my d15b swap for only a short while,
working out the kinks.. and well.. added one of my own.

i had a wierd breather hose tubing setup going to my intake from the valve cover, and it got kinked.

My pcv valve ended up squirting mad ammounts of oil allover,
and my car started overheating.
I fixed the oil leak, and the kinked hose, put in a new oil filter, changed oil,
but I still overheat!! Oil stopped leaking though.

I mashed on it pretty hard while it was kinked.

what could have happened? and why the heck am i still overheating?
found nothing wrong with the coolant system so far,
levels good, same as before overeating started, both upper and lower hoses get hot, fan comes on.

it mainly only overheats when I give it some revs,
like I can drive a good while, as long as i only use partial throttle it wont overheat. Or at least not very much.

well its a shot in the dark but it sounds like the water pump is starting to take a **** because your prob has to so with the cooling system some where let the engine cool down and take off the rad cap make sure you have coolant and then start the car and see if the water pump is flowing water once it reaches temp basicly what you need to find out is if your thermostat is working right it might be stuck shut if your cooling system is working properly then we will have to brainstorm and figure it out

go to radiator shop they will be able to tell you right off the bat. all they have to do is let the car run for a bit.

the last time i had a problem with running hot when rev'ing was my water pump

just change the thermostat(cheap) then go from there

well when its idling, if I loosen the bleeder,
coolant will flow out, and keep flowing.
so i know the coolant is moving.
When the waterpump goes bad, it just leaks coolant right? Or can the pump end stop pumping even though the belt is turning it?

I'll double check the coolant systems functionality and try to get a radiator shop to look at it when I get off work today.

I was talking to someone who was trying to explain to me how the pcv system works, and about blowback and crankcase stuff..
Still in the fog about it all, but it sounds like under heavy load/high rpms the pcv system has to do some work of some sort...

and I had it clogged for a while,
so what happens when it cant do that work that it needs to do??

well,
I put in a new water pump,
completely drained coolant, and flushed the system with water.
flushed with the rad plug open, block plug open, and water pump off..

refilled with some dexcool stuff and purified water.

and .. STILL OVERHEATS!!
once it gets FULLY warmed up, thats when the overheating begins, and its really wierd,
the temp need bounces up and down all over the place. it'll jet up to red in a second, then jet back down to normal... then waver imbetween..
revs seem to affect it...

****, i duno.
suppose I should change the thermostat too.
hope that dont mean I ahve to drain the whole ******* system again!!

sounds like ur thermostat.. u dont have to bleed everything.. should take no more than 30 min

thnx but I figured out i'm not even overheating.

I must have shorted SOMETHING in my electrical system when the oil spilled.
my battery isnt getting charged anymore.

had a whole long 3 page post going on about it,
still havent figured it out

but yeah, basically my tempgauge is just going haywire and fooling me!!

ahaha that sucks, did you fix the short? I had a similar probelm in my car its usually the alternator fuse, it can cause 100000000000000000 insane things to happen from speedo bouncing to, like u said temp bouncing. Give it a looksee

yeah this type of problem is FUCKED
I've been working on it for 2weeks to no avail.

going to try ONE more thing,
i'm hearing a "buzzing" from somewhere around the IM,
if I can find and fix that.. that might be it.

aside from that, i'm just going to pay someone to fix it

thnx tho.

sorry to keep posting,
but i'm not sure what you mean by "oil seal"

I think you're thinking of things inside the engine,
oil can only leak OUT of the engine from a few places.

gaskets,
the pcv system,
oil pressure sender..

if its leaking from your black box then its your pcv system. which is just a bunch of hoses and valves basically.
they are all inexpensive to replace.

im having the same problem too due to a kinked hose. i hope when i fix the kinked hose the temp will stay steady. good luck fixing the problem.

before you take your car to the shop. try to take out the thermostat and see if the temp drop.

oil can be leaks any where around, above or below. ex: cam seal, distributor o-ring, pvc, valve cover, oil pan...ect.

Redo all your grounds. I had a similar problem in my CRX. The temp guage went wacko, I found out I had a poor engine ground.
