It is an electronic box that turns the spray on and off and certain rpms.
BUY ONE!!!!!!
I have sprayed about 12 cars, maybe more and I never hurt a motor without one and I didn't bother spending the money on one.
Well the one incident of losing traction out of the hole and hitting the limiter on the nitrous and I burnt 2 valves and killed the #2 piston. Several days of down time waiting for parts and two times through the motor to find all the problems were not worth the 120 bucks I saved by not doing it.

Re: (crucian)
dont mean to thread jack but.... can you run a 75 shot on stock timing? i thought u got to retard your timing? What about race gas if u run 110 octaine can u retain the stock timing so u wont lose performance all motor? Also for the last question how much do u gap ur plugs for nitrous?

-D</TD></TR></TABLE> Well let me put it like this. I experimented with it. I have an MSD digital 6. I started off with 2 degrees retard on spray and kept adding timing until I got back to 0 degrees retard on spray. Nothing ever happened for as long as I was running nitrous. That was almost a year. Took the car to my automotive school for a class project on doing compression and leak down tests on engines. Engine passed the both tests as if the engine was brand new. I think I gapped my plugs to .45 or something. I can't remember. Been a while. I didnt run race gas. Just pump gas.

With 110 ocatne fuel you should be just fine with stock timing, you could probably bump the timing up a couple degrees if you really wanted. for a 75 shot there really isn't much need to change your plug gap. If you start spraying above 150 or so it would bea good idea to tighten up your gap .004-.006. its not really crucial, it just ensures that your ignition can make the jump through all the stuff in the combustion chamber.
