Default Godspeed or Yonaka Intercooler?

I was wondering which intercooler is better? I need to upgrade soon and I would like to hear personal experience with these brands. Thanks

I have used 2 Yonaka's thus far, and they have been run on many many higher HP cars around here locally, I'd vouch for them over typical Ebay stuff any day, plus they have a lifetime warranty!

Spend a little more and get a garrett/precision core. There IS a difference...

Well, on that end i don't believe there is a huge difference. The idea at the inlet of the intercooler is to break up the airflow for good distribution through the core. I think hacking up a precision tank to do a back door inlet will work fine.

The cheap intercoolers don't restrict air flow, causing the air to move to fast and not cool properly.

I understand that part, I was more specifically asking about the end tank design on the cold side

We just temp checked two of "equal" size. The Yonaka was larger and the other was the precision 600hp version. Both on H motors, both with low boost doing a 3 gear blast once the car was heated up.

The Yonaka had a 7 degree difference from hot to cold intank and the Precision was 29 degrees difference.

There IS a difference.

Sounds like I should save a little more money and just get a better quality intercooler.

It's only cooling 7 degrees across the core because it's too open and it carries too much velocity to cool the air.

Similar to pulling a thermostat out of a car completely. It make the water flow so fast that it can't remove any heat from the engine.

Buy a precision.
