I was in a drivin this morning, thinking everything was ok. Then I see the oil light bliking at me, so i shut the car off. waited till i got my food and quickly pulled into a parking spot. i looked under the car and spotted oil all over the underside of the car.

i walked over to the grocery store and proceded to pour 3 qts of oil in the car.. drove home and jacked the car up.

the oil pan bolts were loose, oil had apparently squirted out all around the pan, coating the underside of my car... started the car up after tightening all the bolts and it seems to run fine.

is there anything i should be checking? I don't think anything has been hurt.. but just wanted to see if you guys think there is anything I should check out just in case or just to look?

Why not compression check it just to be sure then proceed to cuss javiers *** out.....if you spend that much dough...they should be able to put the damn thing back together properly

It wasn't javiars fault.. it's the shop that p7ut the rest of it back together.. and MAINLY my fault for not looking at everything and checking my oil more often...

I'll do a compression check, but I think everything is still ok, just pisses me off that I WAS TOO LAZY TO LOOK EVERYTHING OVER LAST WEEKEND!!!!

*note to self....... look at oil level every other day!!!!*

Jake, everything should be fine. With 1+ quarts left in the engine, there shouldn't be any damage. We've run several engines with no oil (not on purpose) without damage. After tearing everything down, the worst news we got was we were out of beers.

I ran on 1 qt of oil also and it was fine. Our motors are very forgiving so dont be worried.

one time my oil leaked 3 quarts and I didn't know until I get home and smelled really bad oil buring, I figured it was the shitty oil pressure gauge line leaked all around my engine bay. the oil dipstick had almost no oil.... nothing seems to be damaged thou.

I'm ordering an oil pressure gauge setup next payday... can' afford to not see what the oil pressure is.. had i gotteen this gauge a while ago.. this might not have happened or at least i would have cuasght it quicker...

definitely run a compression test.

usually, when the stock oil pressure light starts blinking, it's not good news. i've seen 2 cars where this happened and their motor went even before shutting them off.

hopefully everything is okay, but i've had some different experiences.
but an aftermarket oil pressure guage is definitely needed for any serious mods.
