Default GM Map Sensor?

what's up with GM map sensor? I heard about this on HONDATA? can I use this to replace my stock Honda map sensor so I don't have to use the missing link? any feedback is appreciated! which car or truck does it come off from?

stock honda MAP sensor can only reads up to 11 psi ( I think), with the GM 3 bar map sensor, you can read up to 3bar ~ 42 psi

when you're running standalone, you will not have to use your missing link, therefore you need something that will able to see more than 11 psi...if you plan on running above 11psi...

Actually stan, the 3 bar is around 29psi. Dont forget it reads vaccum with boost so 3 is not 45psi, it somewhere around 29-30psi...

The Honda MAP sensor isn't the problem. As others mentioned, it can see up to ~11 psi of boost and be happy. The problem is that your stock ECU cannot see above ~0.5psi of boost or it flips out. No sensor will change that activity, but a standalone will.

Not me, man.

The original question implied that the Honda MAP sensor was the reason why the Missing Link was used when in reality, the MAP sensor doesn't care....the ECU does though.

Cheers,

I am running a AC Delco map sensor 3-bar on my 90 CRX. I belive its off a Heavy Duty 1ton Diesal Pickup.

It came with my Zdyne unit.

you can also purchase a MSD 3 bar GM-type MAP sensor. Same thing, just made by MSD. I got mine for 45 beans.
