GM 3 bar map? omni 3/4 bar map? im confused?
Alright, so i was told that i needed a GM 3 bar map to run with my setup, but i read some more on it and some other guys said to not use it cause its old GM crap and its gonna work right and to go with a hondata/Omni 3 or 4 bar map?
just to make things clear, im kinda confused on what does the "bar" mean? like a 3 bar map? 4 bar map? i know that the map sensor sends out info from the exhaust manifold preasure to the ECU for the right fuel injected? so if theres a forum talking about this, lmk or give me your input. thanks in advance!!
Engine Managment: Hondata s200 socketed p28 tuned on chrome/ 10-12psi

1.8bar, 2.5 bar, 3 bar, 4 bar, 5 bar these are all pressure scales the map sensor reads.
The higher the number the more pressure the sensor can read.
What engine management are you having your car tuned on?
How much boost do you plan on running?

If you stay under 11 psi you can use the stock map sensor.
If you want to run more then 11 psi I would recommend using an omnipower plug & play map sensor such as the 2.5 bar which reads up to 23 psi.

yeah what he said ^ no use splicing your map plug when you can get that or just order the hondata 4 bar. two screws its on and off and plug it right in with no hassle

Crome and Hondata are two totally different types of EMS's... saying they are one in the same might start a riot!

Map sends info to the ecu based of INTAKE MANIFOLD PRESSURE.
I'm pretty sure you won't need a 4 bar anytime soon.
And just to clarify.
1 bar equals 14.5 psi do the math for 2bars.
Map sensors run off 5v input voltage and is basicly a potentiometer.
Having a map sensor of up to 60 psi for no reason is foolish unless your running 8's.

You would rather be off doing more reasearch....

Just to be really specific on this:
1) The first bar is from a perfect vacuum state to atmospheric pressure (30"vac to 0 on ur vacuum gauge
2) Every bar after that is equivalent to pressure above atmospheric pressure (boost pressure)
I could get way deeper in to this, but I'll keep it simple.

Thats why it's a 2 bar from the factory. What do you mean WTF?
1st bar (0 pressure to atmospheric pressure)
2nd bar (over atmosphere).
1st bar (0 pressure to atmospheric pressure)
2nd bar (over atmosphere).
