whats the part # on it?

should be a wells sensor actually btw, not a true gm but they are said to be made to the exact spec. as the original gm units.

1) GM 3 bar came off of one vehicle, and one vehicle only: the '89 Turbo Trans-Am.

2) Do not buy MAP sensors from the discount auto parts stores that truck in the cheapest swill they can stock the shelves with. Can you say repeatedly "bad out of the box"?

3) GM 3 bar is only $58 from gmpartsdirect.com, do not expletive around.

Even if they did you a disservice, because they don't know what they are talking about? I'm a firm believer in people who dont know what they are talking about needing to STFU.

I'm glad you've done preliminary research, unlike most people, but it did have a MAP sensor - for the factory boost controller. Everything else in forced induction GM-land is a 2 bar MAP.

J Davis you are absolutely right aside from one small part, the GNX did in fact have a 3 bar map.

I searched for this as well prior to deciding on going with a Motorola 2.5 bar becuase I was looking for a sensor locally.

Can you provide a link about GNX/MAP? First I've heard of it, and the gurus on thirdgen.org have never mentioned it.

does anyone have a list of the vehicles to find a 3bar map sensor. I have access to a junk yard that lets you walk around. picking one off without no one noticing should be rather easy.

I will dig it up again after work. I found it on here the first time when I was looking for replacements so I could grab one from Autozone to get my car tuned, didn't want to wait for one to come in the mail. I researched it after that and found that the TTA and GNX had 3 bar's and all others had a 2 but I can't find the link. I will try to dig it up when I get off work though man.
