Default GE sleeve Question

For you that know. When GE sleeves your block do they us a lot of that Orange RTV/silicon? Cause i just tour my motor down to refreshin it and there were two good size clumps of that stuff in the water ports. I bought the motor already build so it could of been the builder. And has anyone ever had a case were the coolant leak out of the bottom of the sleeve into the pan?

I found out that GE used to use orange silicone when they first started , there are 3 or 4 blocks still roaming around like that. I happened to run across one several months ago and I had to send it to get re-sleeved again.

I'll try to get some pics up tonight. I'm guessing this could be a older block. form the story i got it was put together over two years ago. but who knows when it was sleeved.

Aren't cheap? They are perfectly reasonable and on par with every other sleeve out there lol
