gauge light question
I'm gonna be putting in 3 Greddy 52mm gauges in an A-pillar pod. Has anyone attached the lighting to the dimmer control system for the dash gauges so they dim along with the dash dimmer?
i tried it once but im not all that great with eletrical. when i tried it, the dimming light was reversed. so when the guage cluster was bright the guage was dim. Im pretty sure you can fix it with a relay of some sort but I didnt bother.
Same here. I think I followed somebody's instructions or how-to for Honda wiring. It was backwards so I just wired the stupid gauges to be on all the time.
No problem. Its for a 96-00 civic but should work on most hondas/acuras.
If your gauge has two wires like the Autometer (one white + and one black -) then it should work ok.
Connect the white wire+ to the dimmers red/black wire and the black wire- to the dimmers red/silver wire. Now it should dim correctly and not backwards.

I've got another question,
Has anyone done or considered doing a kill switch for the pillar lights?
I was thinking that it would be nice to kill the lights on the pillar lights if i'm driving around at night and don't want the added attention that a big fat glowing pillar adds. I don't generally look at my pillar gauges that much if i'm just cruising down the freeway etc.
