Default Gas mileage using AFC hack

Anyone tell me what kind of gas mileage they are getting on their boosted D16? I have the Greddy kit w/ the Blue Box on a 99 EX and I'm lucky if I get 15-20mpg at 65mph. I'm going to be doing the AFC hack with DSM 450cc injectors, just seeing if any of you out there have the AFC hack on your D16 and what kind of gas mileage/performance you get. Also what settings do any of you have for your AFC?? I hear to start out around -40% to -35% across the board. What are some of your more fine tuned settings at? Hope you guys can help me out a little.

Back in the day when i used the afc hack - i could get over 40mpg on the freeway.

When i took a road trip to texas from san diego, i was getting ~400-420 miles on 10-11 gallons of gas with the cruise set at 80mph - turbo and all. That was with a stock z6 motor, 10-12psi of boost, and a DX tranny. With a SI tranny the gas milage would be around 32-34mpg.

d15 mpfi swap , stock dx tranny, t25, dsm 450, afc hack, stock fpr.... I was also getting 40mpg at 70mph on long trips. Car wasn't tuned. I set the fuel trim at -38 and worked it up to -32 at redline.

Now with the DX tranny, I know that has longer gearing compared to an EX tranny, I've heard people getting way more than 60mph out of second, but question, is that better performance wise compared to an EX tranny?? I'm assuming your running at around 2,000-2,500 rpm on the freeway compared to 3,500 on an EX. Just wondering if the performance numbers were worth swapping a DX tranny in my EX. thanks all

I already took the turbo off for the weekend until I get my SAFC and injectors because I drive 120 miles per day minimum, and I end up filling up everyday 20 bucks or more. I'd go broke on gas alone!! Don't you think 160 mpt is a little excessive for a Blue Box?? Worked just fine on the persons car I bought it off of. Drove it a little ways, drove just like a Stock EX until boost and still the transition to boost was so smooth it was like driving a Stock Turbo car. Let alone it was a 98 and mine is a 99 but you would think with a correct wiring diagram it wouldn't matter and run just fine. I guess it just doesn't work that way. Every car is different.

right now I am using stock injectors with the blue box. I'm getting the DSM 450's with the resistor box and a SAFC. I'm hoping it will be alot more gas friendly being able to tune yourself instead of dumping fuel in at all times making it run so rich it wont idle, and even top end it was acting funny.

Performance for 2nd gear and up sucked. My suggestion would be to use the ex tranny and possibly swap out the 5th gear with something longer.

Right now I just took my GReddy kit off because I was getting a good 15mpg not going into boost at all. People behind me at stop lights would wonder why I'm taking 30 seconds to get up to 55mph. Would a port and polished head thats milled .030 have effect on anything besides compression numbers and obvious air flow through the combustion chambers? I only ask this because after I put it on, there has been slight lagging around 2500-3500 in all gears at times. It could just be an O2 as well, just does it when warm. Anyways, Thanks for all the posts on gas mileage. I figured I could be getting 15mpg just by boosting my car and daily driving. Thanks
