Default Garrett GT37

Has anybody tried this turbo? The A/R on hot side is awfully high (1.12) how does it spool?

i've had a variant built using a modified gt37 compressor wheel with a custom t3 turbine, custom machined housings and such. according to extensive math, the setup i hve ceramic coated and all should see positive manifold pressure aruond 3600 rpm on my 84.5mm fully built ls/vtec

well, GT37 ( t04 76mm .70 A/R compressor, stock turbine housing) at JGY is around $700, which is the cheapest i've found by far. Precision Turbo gave me some insane price on getting that turbo with a different turbine housing though ($1.3k or something) so what other turbines fit on it with lower turbine A/R? Is the stock turbine set-up on this turbo comparable to some other more common turbo for reference?

Buying that "insane" turbo probably gets you the best turbo in the bussiness.

Tuned a car with a T4 GT3767S. Had a .68 A/R turbine housing. What do you want to know?

GT3767 is around $1000 (a price for which a GT35R can be had) and it's not a standard garrett config thus no compressor map or anything. GT37 came in 76mm and 82mm compressor wheels from garrett, not 67mm.

I wanted to know about a GT37 in standard configuration (1.12 turbine), how it spools.

Also, since someone mentioned it, what other turbine housing will "fit" on that turbo, i don't want to pay 2x the price of the turbo for precision to bolt on another turbine housing on a GT3776 T4

For the record, we retail the "out-of-the-box" Garrett GT37 for $875.00. I don't have a price on this turbo with either a T3 4 or 5-bolt discharge in our price sheet as we only a few of these for testing purposes. I believe I'm short of housings right now, but I'll offer this at the same price regardless of what exhaust housing is on it. As I recall, st00pid did pretty well with one of these. Sorry if someone here misrepresented what the facts are.

Also I agree on the GT3767 is an AWESOME TURBO!!! Matt VanWie has gone 10.70s with it, Stan from Fast Turbo made alot of power with one before too, the Texas gusy LOVE this turbo. Also don't get confused just because it says GT3767 it is a 67mm INDUCER not exducer where as the other turbos are Exducers aka the GT3776. It can get confusing on these turbos sometimes. Oh and to the original thread starter sorry I couldn't tell you spool on it actually, I have no experience with the GT3776 yet

yea 4-bolt turbine housings are on national backorder

mine was 945, spools better than a gt35r and makes more power too, a gt35r compared to the turbo i have sucks for lack of a better term

DOH!!!! A GT35R is a GREAT ALL AROUND turbo, IMO hard to beat. Those are some big shoes to fill, keep in mind they also make a GT35 which is NOT BALL BEARING and much less expensive. As Rod mentioned earlier their are other housing options available besides the 1.12 A/R

i agree its a grea turbo. but when i do things i do them big, spare no expense and go butt wild. even the housings arent standard pieces, i had them custom machined... look the same on the outside, but all special on the inside you should know that by now, lol

So be it but IMO the GT3767 is a great turbocharger and I think you would benefit from looking into it more. Let me know if you do have any questions.

I was looking around for a GT3767 or GT37/GT40 back in Feburary. Every shop I talked to said it would suck *** and wouldn't be worth it. Kinda funny to see that it works so well after somebody actually tried it out.

That's what people said about numerous turbochargers (T3/T67S, GT2871RLE, GT3076RLE)

That's why there are gurus around this forum and other locations that specialize SPECIFICALLY on turbochargers and their designs. I'm currently doing a write up on Borg-Warner/Airwerks turbos to help the public in a lot of their turbo decision choices.

I do not have a Honda, i actually i have a 3.8L GM, but i think this forum is very informative.

Rod Short: $1300 is a price I got after calling precision turbo and speaking to someone, who then called me back with the price. (on a GT37 with a different exhaust housing)

Do you have other housing available (or available soon) I want one if it's the same price as stock GT37

after doing some math, that compressor is /great/ on my engine
look here

i just want something that does full spool at 2500-3000 rpms.
