That turbo costs a little over $2000.00.

From what Geoff said, that is a poor combination of turbo. The turbine wheel is too small for that compressor.

that "poor" combination only applies to the cylinder heads like a honda uses for efficiency. Otherwise, it's great for 2.0 liter factory motors like the SR20.

I can meet or beat allof those prices on Garrett turbos! http://www.boostfed.net for contact info. I don;t have all the specifics on the GT2540 turbo yet, but Garrett has come out with soooo many new and innovative turbos lately! Again I was thinking of a GT40R or GT4067R for my set up, the dual BB option would really help with spool.

If this is not a suitable turbo, then what is a better one for low spool with good response?

GT2540 is the HKS speced 54mm 76 trim NS111 turbine with a 76mm 46 trim TO4E wheel . HKS more or less admitted its a dog by releasing the GTRS replacement with its I think 52 trim 71mm wheel . ATP (ATP Turbo.com) sells the GT2871 which uses a similar if not identical CHRA . They have just released two more turbos along the same lines as HKS's GT2835's with the 84 and 90 trim turbines (56.6mm) basically cut down GT30 UHP turbines . They are sold with GT28 style exhaust housings with T25/28 footprint in .64AR (84T) and .86AR (90T) .
These last two are about the turbine size upper limit for the GT28 housings with integral gates for "drop in" style fit .

Thanks for the info, I believe that the GT2540 is rated to 400 hp?

Im after something abit bigger than the gt2530/gt2535 as they are spose to be ultra responsive but seem to limit the high end abit.

Anyone think of a better turbo for a street daily driven car that sees circuit once or twice a year?

Why does everyone preach these huge turbos?

Do compressor maps serve no purpose?

I've got no experiance w/ a GT35R on a D series motor, but how can you even get it to spool when it supports like 600hp?
