I think it's always funny when ppl recollect the konami code and they always throw in the select.

Because personally I never had any friends as a kid. (Hint: select was for two player mode.)

That being said. The GBA isn't even being used to tune the car. It is a dummy terminal connecting to the computer that IS tuning the car.

exactly,
wouldn't you be scared if you used a nintendo device for the tuning computer? you would get a bad tune because you didn't blow on the cartridge

Damn thats funny.

most of these people hating are just mad cause they can't beat any of the game boy games. so they would get pissed when they loose throw the gameboy and loose their tune. woops their goes your car.

My Palm pilot i was going to use for my wide ban. to use to record info to tune my Car only cost 40 bucks. just cause its cheap doesn't mean its junk or not important or can't be trusted.

okay back to the topic.

I dont see anything wrong with using a game boy to tune a car. I mean all it really is use for is to run the actuall program and to be able to use the display.

Now the question i bring up is- how well does the program work?

Running a zelda or donkey kong game is a lot more complex task than running an engine. Also, a gameboy advance has a more powerful 32-bit processor than your
typical obd-1 honda ecu, with a 16 bit OKI mcu running at what - around 10mhz.
Most guys on here would be surprised to know that most honda roms are 32kb in size. Yeah, 32 kilobytes.
My point is that people badmouthing the gameboy because its an inferior piece of hardware, obviously dont have any idea. Even if the gameboy was a tenth as capable as it is, it doesnt take a supercomputer to tune an ecu. The computing power needed to make changes to an ecu is extremely rudimentary.</TD></TR></TABLE>

What more do you whan't !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These is the most reasonable info you could get!
My qiuestion is with what wind of cable can you make the connection and how much dose that cable costs?

what happens when the but if your batteries die out on the game boy?but seriously u cant knock on it though it is advanced if u think about it. look at the processor chips in computers now. they are smaller than a game boy and more advanced. and if u had that in your car and someone sees it they would be like das hot

Sorry to bring up an old therad but...Why does everyone assume this thing is a joke? Just because it's a gameboy? The domestic crowd thought FWD Hondas were a joke, but look at how many fsat Hondas there are now. Don't bash that damn thing unless you have used it and you had a bad expierience with it. Just because the thing is used to play games, does'nt mean it can't be used to control engine software, the gamenboy is just another computer like your Hondas computer...

For anyone who has used it, is it reliable/effective/worth it?

If you hav'nt used it, don't bash it. If you have already used it, please, give us some info.
